Bristol Zoological Society Library contains over 4,500 books and 2,500 journals on a vast array of zoological topics including ecology, animal behaviour and welfare, zoo management, veterinary science, research methods, and much more. It is also the first point of contact for archive enquiries.
The library is open to Bristol Zoological Society staff, trustees, volunteers and students.
When you visit for the first time, the Librarian can create a library account for you. If you are a student, please bring your student ID plus another form of photo ID. If you are staff, please bring your staff ID.
The general public can access the library by prior arrangement. For regular access to the library facilities, you may be required to apply for a researcher pass. Please email library@bzsociety.org.uk to make an enquiry.
The Library can provide study skills sessions for students and provision of, or direction to, resources of all kinds, including inter-library loans.
Free Wi-Fi is available in the library. There are 3 computers for student/staff use.
We offer a range of undergraduate and postgraduate degrees in conservation and zoological management in partnership with leading local universities.
