Half-Price visits after 2pm

Please note this offer ends on Friday 28 March.

We've welcomed over 5,000 of you this month under Pay What You Can – thank you so much for your support!

For a limited time only, every day after 2pm, you can visit Bristol Zoo Project for a suggested half-price, or less.*

Our new ‘Pay What You Can’ initiative offers everyone the chance to get a taste of Bristol Zoo Project. The suggested donation is half-price, but if this is out of reach for you right now, you can pay less, no questions asked.

Due to the popularity of the offer, all Pay What You Can visits must be pre-booked online. There is a free reservation slot you can select on our ticket booking page to save your spot. Simply choose how much you would like to donate when you arrive.

If the online slots are fully booked, please try another day! The capacity of slots is based on the maximum capacity of the site each hour. Thank you for your support and understanding.

If you don't have access to a smartphone or computer you can call us on 0117 428 5300 and we will do our best to find you an available slot.

Last entry to the zoo and Bear Wood is at 3pm, and the zoo closes at 4pm.

If you'd like to experience Bear Wood, please head there as soon as you arrive – exploring the habitat takes around 45 minutes.

Please remember we are a conservation and education charity working to save wildlife around the world. Every penny you give will help us to achieve this mission. Please Gift Aid your donation if you are able, which allows us to claim an additional 25% on top of your donation, at no extra cost to you.

Admission under the Pay What You Can initiative cannot be redeemed against membership due to Gift Aid regulations.

Frequently asked questions

How do I claim this offer?

Due to the popularity of the offer, all Pay What You Can visits must be pre-booked online. There is a free reservation slot you can select on our ticket booking page to save your spot. Simply choose how much you would like to donate when you arrive.

If the online slots are fully booked, please try another day! The capacity of slots is based on the maximum capacity of the site each hour. We can't guarantee your entry to the zoo without a pre-booking. Thank you for your support and understanding.

How long is this offer available for?

The Pay What You Can Initiative is available for a limited time only, running daily from Monday 3 March to Friday 28 March, after 2pm.

Can I pay less to visit the zoo before 2pm?

Sorry, no. This offer is available from 2pm only, to allow everyone a taste of the zoo but still provide great value to day visitors and members. The best value way to visit us during the day is our Family Saver ticket, or to buy an annual membership for multiple visits.

How can I find out if this offer runs again?

Please sign up to our newsletter to keep up to date with news from us, including offers and promotions, events and activities.

What time does the zoo close?

We close at 4pm, and last entry is at 3pm. We're not able to admit anyone after 3pm so please make sure you arrive before then! Last entry to Bear Wood is also at 3pm, so please head there as soon as you arrive if you'd like to see it.

Is 2 hours enough to see the whole zoo?

Bristol Zoo Project is a large site with lots to see, so it's unlikely you'll see everything in 2 hours! Our animals inhabit large, natural spaces so it can take a bit of time to spot them.

Check out our site map ahead of your visit to plan your time – Bear Wood, the geladas and giraffes might be one visit, and the Walled Garden, red pandas, lemurs and cheetahs might be another. We also have plenty of play areas where children may want to spend 45 minutes or more.

Annual membership is a great way to enjoy the zoo and support our charity year-round.

How do I get to Bristol Zoo Project on public transport?

See our 'Find us' page here for details on traveling to Bristol Zoo Project by public transport.

Is Bristol Zoo Project accessible?

See full accessibility information, including our access statement here.

Can I visit multiple times under this offer?

Yes, you can visit as many times as you like during this offer. If you'd like to keep visiting after the offer ends, consider a membership with us. Membership gives you year-round access, plus special events and discounts.

Can I claim back my entry donation against the cost of an annual membership?

For a full-priced entry, we are able to deduct the ticket price (minus any gift aid donation) from a membership taken out on the day of visit.

If you visit us with a Pay What You Can donation, we’re unfortunately not able to offer this due to Gift Aid regulations. However, as a gesture of goodwill we would be very pleased to offer you one free ticket (for a guest) for every membership taken out on the day on your visit only.

Are there also discounts on food and drink during the offer?

Sorry, no. Our café will be open as usual if you wish to buy refreshments, or you are welcome to bring your own drinks and snacks to the zoo.
