For one weekend only, on Saturday 25th and Sunday 26th April, Bristol Zoo will be hosting a weekend of bird-related activities.
Visitors to the Zoo will be invited to get involved in a bird-themed crafts, such as making bird feeders and bird masks, a bird trail around the Zoo and a raffle, which offers the chance to win a penguin ‘meet and greet’ experience.
The Bird Weekend, sponsored by Brinsea Products Ltd, is free with normal Zoo admission, with an opportunity to make donations to the craft making activities. All donations will go towards the Zoological Society’s bird conservation project in the Philippines; aiming to conserve the bleeding heart dove.
Bristol Zoo is home to a host of different birds, including African penguins, greater flamingos, Socorro doves, which are extinct in the wild and many more.
Bristol Zoo Gardens is a conservation and education charity and relies on the generous support of the public not only to fund its important work in the Zoo, but also its vital conservation and research projects spanning five continents.
