PR & Communications Manager

Contract hours:  37.5 hours per week

Salary:  £34,277 per annum

Location:  Wild Place Project from June 2022 and Working from home

Contract type:  Permanent

Bristol Zoological Society, the conservation and education charity that runs and operates Bristol Zoo Gardens and Wild Place Project and conservation projects across the world, is recruiting a PR & Communications Manager.

This is an exciting time to be joining the Society, with a new strategy in place to create a world-class Bristol Zoo with conservation and sustainability at its heart – due to open in 2024 at the Society’s Wild Place site.

You will be supporting the Director of Strategic Communications and Head of Marketing & Communications in achieving the charity’s corporate, strategic communications, commercial and charitable objectives.

The role will help to realise our vision of saving wildlife together, building our reputation for conservation, and supporting our transformation programme – from the celebration of Bristol Zoo Gardens’ last summer before it closes on 3 September 2022 to our work to secure planning permission for the Clifton site for much-needed homes for Bristol. The PR & Communications Manager will help to drive visitor numbers to Wild Place Project and excitement as plans progress for the new Bristol Zoo.

No two days are the same, with a fast-paced and varied workload. The successful candidate will be skilled in PR and communications planning and measurement, reputation management, stakeholder engagement, the creation of compelling content, and will have recent line-management experience.

An understanding of conservation is desirable, however we believe your passion will become as great as ours on your journey with us.
