Bristol Zoo Project is proud to be hosting this Bear Husbandry Workship for UK Keepers, in collaboration with the BIAZA Bear Focus Group.

About

The workshop will be held at Bristol Zoo Project from Tuesday 2 July – Thursday 4 July, with 2 days of presentations and an optional guided tour of our bear facilities on the final day.

We shall be focusing on the more specific needs of different bear species in a captive environment.

Interactive workshops will take place across the two days, with a focus on the process of assessing welfare and carrying out welfare audits in captive bears and carrying out behavioural research studies to collect data to inform decisions.

This is a wonderful opportunity to share knowledge and current best practice, as well as expand professional development.

Schedule

Final Schedule to be confirmed.

There will be two days of talks, presentations and interactive workshops, and an optional guided tour of our bear facilities on the final day.

There is also an optional icebreaker evening event on Monday 1 July, and a group meal on Tuesday 2 July.
