About

The African grey parrot is regarded as one of the most intelligent birds in the world. However, their popularity as pets, combined with habitat loss, has led to their endangered status, making conservation efforts crucial to their survival.

Join Sheldon Wetton, Curator of Birds at Bristol Zoological Society, to hear the heartbreaking, but ultimately heartwarming story of how the African greys joining Bristol Zoo Project have been rescued from the pet smuggling trade to find a home in our new African Forest habitat.

Also in this talk will be detail on the new parrot aviary in African Forest, with its innovative design and natural enrichment elements.

This talk will start at 2pm with plenty of time for questions at the end, with a finishing time of 3.30pm.
