This February half-term, become a zookeeper in training!

Brand-new for 2026, explore the zoo and take on challenges to learn real skills used by our zookeepers!

Follow the trail to discover 7 different training stations, each with a new skill to practice. Try measuring out medicine for the red panda, sweep up straw by the zebra house, use the scales to weigh out food for our hungry meerkats and examine the wolverines’ poo to check they’re in tip-top health!

Get ready for a day of zookeeping. Don't forget your wellies!

    Join the daily workshop to make enrichment toys out of hosepipes recycled from the Avon Fire and Rescue service, with help from our team.

  • Animal talks and feeds

    Don’t miss the daily talks and feeds! Learn amazing animal facts and watch the animals get their lunch. Talks are fun for ages 3 and up, with the chance to get hands-on with real animal biofacts like skulls and furs.

  • Enter the prize draw to win a real Junior Keeper Experience!

    All zookeepers in training who complete the trail can enter our prize draw to win a real Junior Keeper experience, worth £175!

Bear Wood walkway

Explore award-winning Bear Wood via a treetop walkway that guides you through the woodland. See wolverines climbing trees, catch a glimpse of the wolves on the forest floor and watch the bears snooze on our live bear cam.

Lemur Walkthrough

Get up close with playful primates in the dedicated walkthrough area. Watch them bound by your feet or leap overhead, with no barrier between you and them!

Tropical House

Meet free-flying birds, endangered reptiles, colourful beetles and tiny mouse deer in our brand-new Tropical House!

Explorers Basecamp

Enjoy unlimited playtime on our three-storey play tower. Young explorers can go wild on slides, racing zipwires and floor trampolines.
