This important document celebrates the work and global achievements of our teams both here in the UK and in the field.
As a conservation and education charity we work in nine countries, across four continents, to protect the world’s most threatened species. In 2024 we directed 25 field conservation projects with 30 partner organisations internationally.
At home in Bristol, we are busy creating a new conservation zoo at Bristol Zoo Project, where at least 85% of species are both threatened, and part of targeted conservation programmes.
The report focuses on the work of our field conservation projects, native species efforts, conservation breeding successes, higher education team, and our engagement with local schools, groups and communities.
Some of our 2024 highlights include:
Welcoming more than 357,000 visitors to Bristol Zoo Project
Engaging with almost 17,000 schoolchildren
Teaching 436 higher education students
Commencing construction of our new African Forest habitat
Building and opening a new red panda habitat and conservation themed playground, Explorers Basecamp
Welcoming 1,404 education and community visitors and almost 4,000 community members through our Access to Nature scheme
We hope you enjoy reading this report, which tells you a little more about what we do, as well as our future strategy and mission. Thank you for your support!
