Looking for spine-tingling fun this October? Don’t miss out on the chance to unveil the mysteries of the night at Bristol Zoo Project this half-term.

As spooky season is upon us there is no better way to celebrate Halloween than with a wild adventure at Bristol Zoo. Here are some fun-filled things to do during your visit.

Keep your eyes peeled and your wits about you during our chilling scavenger hunt, with clues hidden among the shadows throughout the zoo. Uncover them all to unlock your reward – could it be a trick or treat?

Howl-oween runs from 25 October to 2 November and is included in admission.

Enter the Den of Darkness

Step inside the mysterious Den of Darkness where the creatures of the night come to life! Learn all about nocturnal animal behaviours, discover real biofacts, and see what the world looks like after dark. Can you uncover the secret hidden in the mystery box?

Bear Wood tells the story of British woodland from 8,000 BC to the present day – where native species lost over time are brought back in one remarkable experience.

Wander high in the trees on an elevated treetop walkway that winds through 7.5 acres of ancient woodland. Look down to see majestic bears, wolves, wolverines, and lynx roam around this stunning natural habitat.

Be sure to stop by the panoramic viewing den — where you can come closer than ever with our magnificent wolves and bears.

Of course, no visit to Bristol Zoo Project is complete without saying hello to our incredible animals! From mischievous meerkats to prowling wolves, your favourite zoo residents will be part of the Halloween magic too.

There is plenty of fun to be had across Bristol Zoo Project with numerous opportunities to play. Venture into Congo Bongo, tiptoe through the shadowy woodland play areas, and embrace the elements on our Barefoot Trail – but don’t forget to check out the views as you climb your way up to the top of the giant bird's nest deep in Bear Wood.

At the Fun Fort, children can climb the tangled scramble net, dash across the scatter bridge, slide down the fireman’s pole, and conquer the climbing wall. A play area undercover, it provides fun come rain or shine and a resting place for adults.

Our new conservation-themed play area, Explorers Basecamp, is designed for all ages, needs, and abilities, and is inspired by a field station which you’d find at one of our global conservation project sites. Spread across three levels, children can go “full speed ahead” on the racing zipline, move amongst the webs of the rope jungle, jump high from the floor trampolines, and be joined by grown-ups on the family swing.

Pop in to Bear Wood Gift Shop

Make sure you stop by our brand-new Bear Wood pop-up shop. Packed with all things inspired by the incredible animals of Bear Wood, you’ll find everything from adorable plush toys to wild-themed souvenirs, gifts, and stationery. It’s the perfect spot for wolf, bear, lynx, and wolverine fans to take home a little piece of the wild!

Step into the lemurs' world as you wander through their beautiful habitat. Keep your eyes peeled, these lively characters might dart across your path or leap through the trees right above you! It's a close-up encounter you won’t forget.
