The Zoo And You As part of our BIG Summer Send-Off we are celebrating our 186-year history by looking back at some of our fondest memories of the Zoo and we want to hear from YOU.

What are your favourite memories of the Zoo?

Do you remember Wendy the elephant? Perhaps you have a family story about Alfred the gorilla who lived here between 1930 and 1948? Or maybe you came on a first date to the Zoo, were married here, or witnessed your child’s first steps on the main lawn?

Whatever memories you have, we would love you to share them with us – new and old alike! Join in using the hashtag #TheZooAndYou to share your nostalgic photos on socials.

Our favourite images will have the chance to feature on our ‘Past, Present and Future’ timeline – a special one-off exhibit for our BIG Summer Send-Off, before the Zoo closes on 3 September 2022.

Here are some of our favourite photos so far.
